Shayla is apparently out of USC's, her coach confirmed on GGMB. I guess I want all the best competition there can be, but I've never been super excited about Shayla. I think ithe not competing ts part sort back part not completely ready with new skills part not wanting to peak just yet.
So any thoughts? A lot of people pick her as a spoiler for nats but I don't think she has the #'s - espeyshully on FX.

I absolutely love Shayla. I would give anything for her to win the senior competition at Nationals. The whole Chellstia thing is boring and it's not like they need any more titles to back up their reputations. Shayla can score super high on bars and beam, but vault is hard for her. Is she competing a Yurchenko 1.5 at Nationals? The difficulty just isn't there right now. As for floor, I think she has great floor. Her pretty much only deductions are from her stumbles after her tumbles. Like after her arabian double she always looks kinda stmble-y/wobble-y and after her double pike she *always* takes two or three steps back and a lot of times it's out of bounds. I think she has a pretty good difficulty score, though. So through all of this, I would much rather have Shayla in than Nastia or Chellsie or both. ;D But jeez, Seniors will be as exciting as watching grass grow. The junior competition is where all the real action is.

Yeah, or as Lizbiannnnnn said, maybe they're inflating a tiny injury so she has more time to polish before Nationals since she already has a spot in the line-up.

I'm not making it up 'cause she's not my faovirite. I agree she has good tumbling except the wonky arabian. At least Nastia and probably others will have new skills, tweeking routines for nationals - that makes it interesting to me. Nationals though, maybe not so much. They better have some fluff, and it had better not all be DomiMoc. Jeezum.

^^ I know that you meant that. She does have to work a bit on her tumbling (*cough* sTUMBLING) espeyshully the double pike. Nastia and Chellsie just seem to crank out the scores, though... Too bad lots of it's a gift...

I like Shayla's floor. I'd love to know what the start value whould have been in the old KKKODE. It's the most well choreographed and polished one I think I've seen since the new KKKODE came into effect, but unfortunately lacks the difficulty.
And yeah, they're - hopefully...and I think it's likely - playing it extremely safe so the Shayla revolt will be easier, and so she - like Lizbiannnnnn said - doesn't peak at Classics and bomb Nationals. ;D

In my mind I would think Shayla's FX would start out of a 9.9ish maybe, not sure about the turns and dance bonus, etc. She does a gogean though doesn't she? And that was like .2 bonus last quad I think.

She has one of the best floor routines, so far, of this quad IMO.

As ambivalent as I am towards her gym, I will give her credit for having maybe the ONLY improved floor routine since the NEW KODE took place. Everyone else's has gone way way down hill, though I guess Shawn's isn't sooooo so bad.
